Snow falls on both sides
In the works
Snow Falls on Both Sides is a true story of a woman born in Kiev, Ukraine in the midst of the Holocaust and how that, along with the pressure of the Soviet Union and her neighbors affected the course of her life. It is a story of betrayal, heartache, the kindness of strangers, and underscoring it all; a love story.
Ultimately, it deals with the idea of family and a feeling of belonging through completely true experiences and events.
Why now?
Natasha has always believed that life inspires art and art inspires life; she wants to create art inspired by the lives of people that have changed her. Learning about her grandmother's life has changed her in ways that she can only attempt to describe through art.
"I've spent a lot of time the past couple years questioning what it means to be Canadian? What is Canadian culture? I've come to the conclusion that it’s a long story. Or rather, a collection of long stories originating from different parts of the world who have, by some way of life, landed in Canada and made a difference; small or large."
